We are encouraged to pray in the Spirit at all times (Ephesians 6:18) and never was this more important than in this time of crisis. Christ Church is setting aside Saturday 27 June as a Day of Prayer to seek God and to bring before him the needs of our world, our country, our community and our church.

There will be opportunities to meet online through Zoom to pray together, but we can meet in other ways and also pray in our individual spaces. Throughout the day, brothers and sisters from Christ Church will be united in meeting with God and, where possible, with each other.

The day will run from 9 am to 9 pm. Please save the date, and we’d especially encourage as many people as possible to join in the final Zoom prayer time of the day from 7.45 to 9 pm.

There is no pressure: you can do as little or as much as you like.

  • You can pray silently, aloud, by writing, or in any other creative way.
  • You can pray at home, out walking, at a Zoom meeting, or with a friend on the phone or with others socially distanced outside – children included.
  • You could choose to do one (or more) half hour slot or maybe pray for a short time at intervals throughout the day to cover all the topics.
  • Please take some time to be quiet and ask God what he might want to say to us.
  • You might want to include a time of fasting in the day – missing a meal or fasting from social media or TV for example.
  • You might choose to say the Lord’s Prayer at set intervals during the day.
