From the churchwardens: Thank you for your prayers for the Interview Day for the post of Vicar. The day went well. Unfortunately, it has not been possible to appoint anyone to the role. This means that the post will be re-advertised. I am sure many of us will be disappointed at this news, along with a whole spectrum of other emotions and thoughts. May we hold onto the truth that God knows what the future holds for us here at Christ Church.
If you haven’t already explored it Christ Church has a new website, which you can find at http://christchurchb29.org. It was designed and built by Digital Church Toolkit, who provide services and consultancy to churches across the UK. Much of the content had to be rewritten due to the pandemic and it will continue to change, but one of the advantages of the new site is that it is easier to edit and maintain than the old one. It is responsive, which means that it displays properly on all types of device – desktop, tablet and phone.
As so much of our lives moves online, it’s great that we have an attractive new shop window in the digital world. It is responsive, which means that it displays properly on all types of device – desktop, tablet and phone.
The new domain name was chosen to be short and distinctive. “B29” anchors us in our local area but we recognise that our presence extends beyond the geographical boundaries of the parish.
As school holidays officially begin on Monday please pray for our children and young people who have had a very strange summer term and who may be concerned about how things are going to be when they are due to start back in September. Pray especially for those awaiting exam results without having done exams, for those moving to new schools and sixth form, and for those waiting to hear about university places.
