Re-opening the building

The Christ Church building will be open for private prayer on Thursday mornings from 10 – 11.30 am and Sunday evenings 6 – 7.30 pm. The first session will be on Thursday 6 August. Hand sanitiser will be available at the entrance and exits, a one way system will be operation and chairs will be positioned to ensure social distancing. Volunteers with be there to welcome you and record contact details for track and trace purposes.

Sunday services will restart in the building from September. The aim is to livestream the services for those who are joining online. A group is being formed to work on the detail, with the main principle being to provide an equally positive experience for both those meeting in the building and those joining online.

These decisions were made at last Monday’s PCC meeting.

Advertising the vacancy

Following the disappointment of not being able to appoint after the recent interviews, it is good to let you know that the post of vicar has already been re-advertised. Shortlisting should take place on 9 September with interviews planned for 23 September. Please continue to pray for this process, for Graham, Pat, Cathie and the rest of the interview panel as well as for potential candidates.

Prayer ministry

The prayer ministry team will be offering prayer as part of the Après Church Zoom meeting on 9 August. Jane Clarke will be organising this so if you let her know that you would like prayer when you join the meeting she will arrange this.

Walking again

On Thursday 6 August the Christ Church walking group plans to walk for three miles in Woodgate Valley Country Park. Weather permitting we will set out from the visitors’ centre, Woodgate Valley Country Park, Clapgate Lane B32 3DS at 10am. If you would like to join us and can make your way to the start, it would be great to see you!
