Statement from the Revd Ben Green
To be read at the service on Sunday 17 May 2026
I have been reflecting on and praying about recent events at Christ Church, particularly the outcome of the APCM elections, and have consulted with our Bishops and Archdeacon. It seems that my own sense of the vision and challenges for Christ Church is not shared by the majority of the congregation. With immense sadness, I have concluded that it is no longer right for me to continue serving God as your vicar and I will not be returning to public ministry here.
In conversation with Bishop Michael and Bishop Esther, I am currently exploring my next steps and I will resign formally from my current post as soon as arrangements are concluded.
Jess and I continue to value your prayers and are deeply grateful for the support which we have received.
