I am delighted to announce that Sam Haynes has been appointed as our Evangelism & Discipleship Assistant, to start in August.
Sam’s application and interview were excellent, and I am looking forward to him being part of our team in this new capacity. We have benefited much from his calling, gifts and heart for service in recent years, and I pray through this appointment we will all continue to grow in both evangelism and discipleship.
At this stage the role is for 12 months, and we will be seeking additional funds to help us extend it to three years – ideally at least four – so please keep praying.

I’m really excited to be taking on this role in August! Over the past few years, God has been growing in me a real desire to see people enter into and grow in real and meaningful relationships with Jesus, and this role will be a great way to work alongside the rest of the church as we seek to do this together. I have enjoyed the privilege of working with the brilliant members of Renew and Young Adults for the past couple of years, and really look forward to continuing to work with them too!
I would like to thank all of you who were praying throughout the application process, and for all of you who have been supporting me in a variety of ways over the last few years. I thank God for this church family, and feel really blessed to be able to serve you in this way.
I would really appreciate it if you would continue to pray for me going forward. I still have a couple months of working with UCCF and Christian Unions in Birmingham to go, please pray for me and the students that I work with that we would end the year well as Jesus’ name is proclaimed on campuses! As I prepare for this new role, please also pray that God would be preparing me in heart and character, and for the practical preparations, such as finding somewhere to live and applying for the theology course I plan to do alongside the role!
