I read the following after our morning service today:
‘I am sad to announce that Rachel Fasham has tendered her resignation after accepting a job at another church. She is going to be the new Youth & Children’s Development Worker at St Francis Bournville. She has kindly agreed to stay beyond her notice period, to see us through to half term – so her last day with us will be 31 October.
‘I am sad to see her go – we will miss her a great deal – but it’s also exciting to see God calling her on to a new place and a fresh challenge. She is perfect for the new role, and I’m sure will be a great blessing to them.
‘There’s a lot more to discuss about what happens next, and PCC will be speaking about it on Tuesday. Change brings challenges, but also opportunities for us to discern where God is leading us to next.
‘There will be a leaving do in the evening of Saturday 21 October, so please make every effort to join us for that and give her a good send off. More details to follow…
‘We would also love to give Rach a leaving gift. If you are able to give some money towards this you can give before Sunday 15 October:
- Cash via the collection box or the post box outside the office (please put this in an envelope marked ‘RF’)
- Online into the church bank account (with the reference ‘RF’)
- By card on Sunday using the SumUp machine on the info/giving table (using ‘RF’ in the description)
- If you have any questions please speak to Adrian, Amanda or Ben.
‘Please hold Rachel in your prayers over the next weeks, that there would be a smooth handover, she would end well here and then start well in Bournville. And pray for the PCC and others as we consider our own next steps.’
