Seeing things rightly
With so many distractions in our lives, what would it mean if we could see everything in the context of the great things God has done for us?

With so many distractions in our lives, what would it mean if we could see everything in the context of the great things God has done for us?
What does it mean to come to Jesus like a child? It is not about being childish! We need to see the world as a child does and recognise the way Jesus was counter-cultural.
We can learn from and be thankful for what God has done in the past, but we should not get stuck there. At the beginning of a new year Susan challenges us to embrace the new things God has for us and to be part of what he is doing.
Surely every church should want to be growing in faith and love, but what does that look like today?
Does “secular” work – or related activity such as studying or volunteering – have any value in God’s kingdom?
We can only imagine the range of extreme emotions Mary went through in those few minutes, but we know where it ended up: joy. It took longer for some, but all the disciples were transformed by the knowledge that Jesus was with them forever.
